Day 26 - Sat 04May2024 - At Sea to Vancouver, BC - Day 2
There was a bit more motion to the ocean today although the waves did not look that large. Even after all these many days of cruising all over the world, I still marvel at the vastness of the ocean. We haven't seen another ship in days and we continue to cruise at 18 knots covering around 440 miles per day. I have never seen the Captain except at official events. This is unlike most HAL cruises where the Captain is more visible especially at meal times.
Our day began with Bible Study in the Princess Live theater with Ron leading. Today's message was on the 8 roles that Jesus performed in the Bible.
Lewis Lucke presented his talk on Iraq reconstruction which was quite good. The USAID program provided so much help that went unreported in the media. After Lewis, naturalist Mark Harris gave an interesting presentation on glaciers.
There was a reprise of the production show, Encore, at 3pm, but I skipped it to take a short nap and catch up on some YouTube videos.
Violinist David Klinkenberg was the evening entertainer and he was very good. He was also an entertainer on our Zaandam cruise in Deember, 2023. He even invited young man up on to the stage to play the piano while David accompanied him for two songs. What a thrill for the young man who could play quite well.
We watched the dance competition in the Piazza which was won by Samantha from Australia who edged out the champion from the first competition. She was good and very aggressive in her dance moves. She's also a finalist in the voice of the ocean competition. Tonight we had another moving forward of the clock. While I'm not getting as long of sleep times due to the moving forward of the clock, I'm happy to report my CPAP machine is giving me great rest.
